Pastor Steve Wingate

Pastor Steve and his wife, Pam, celebrate 29 years of marriage and counting! They have one beautiful daughter, and their first grandchild is due in the fall. Andrea (Wingate) Hindmon lives with her husband in Indiana, and they work together at a well-managed YMCA camp.

Pastor Steve was born in Seattle, WA, grew up in Tacoma, WA, lived in Virginia for four years, and returned to the NW in 2002. Schooling includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Washington, an MBA from Regent University (Virginia Beach, VA), and is currently completing a Ministerial Preparation Program with Nazarene Bible College. He recently completed a Church Planters Essential training to support his leaning towards new works.

He enjoys the outdoors, coffee, older western movies, learning - however that happens, leading and being creative in ministry.

His calling is to be a compassionate, entrepreneurial pastor, seeking to see restoration happen through the local church through celebrating, connecting, and caring - creatively.

Since 1983, Steve & Pam have served as lay leaders, business owners, board members, and home group leaders sharing their new life in Christ. Last year, Steve had the honor of being District assigned to Prospect Church of the Nazarene. Steve currently serves as Assistant Pastor with a District Minister’s license, in adult, education, and recovery ministries, at Medford First Church of the Nazarene, and provides pulpit supply for neighboring churches when possible.

At Medford First, we see three aspects of life being more fulfilled:

  1. Obtaining a better understanding of one’s faith in Christ
  2. making more, significant connections with others of like heart and
  3. Whole-life, Spirit-led opportunities that convey real, optimistic reasons for one to have lasting, permeating hope in a world where one always finds deficiency, apart from life in Christ.

As a couple with a pastor’s heart, Pam & I want to see Jesus Christ impacting and changing all of a person’s life: purpose and vision, family, spiritual health, corporate worship, and to see God’s redemptive power for one’s entire community.

Some of my favorite scriptures are Psalm 33: 20, Proverbs 23: 18, John 8:36, 2 Cor. 5:17, Eph. 3:16- 21, Phil. 4: 1, and 1 Thess. 5:23-24.
